The Crayon Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the environment and enriching the lives of hospitalized children through art and imagination.
Through our work, we reduce environmental waste by remanufacturing used crayons into new ones and donating them to art programs in children’s hospitals across the country. Through these art therapy programs, The Crayon Initiative helps kids heal through creative expression. The Crayon Initiative has collected 11.5 million used crayons from restaurants, schools and homes. More than 100,000 pounds of crayons have been prevented from going into landfills. The Crayon Initiative has helped over 50,000 kids through creative expression in over 90 hospitals across 25 states.
